This group is just as confounding genetically as the Calico-Leucistic-Pied animals. 


Breeding similar visual animals together so far has produced only normal looking offspring for us.  So several questions still remain unanswered at this time.


  1. 1) Like the Progressive Pied genetic trait, will the Granite look morph in over time?

  2. 2) Or, as suspected with many Tokay genes, are the visual genetic markers in different animals in different places on their DNA strand because of locale separation over time.  (Indonesia after all is a collection of Islands.)

  3. 3)There has been at least one German breeder who produced a visual Granite at birth.

  4. 4)Or, and this one is really fun; can the visual mutation be created from completely different genetic mutations?

Proving out the genetics over time.

January, 2013 - So far, none of the 2011 Granite to Granite prodigy has turned from their normal looking patterning.  Nor has any of the 2012 offspring either.


The next step is to raise up these juveniles and pair them with either one of their parents or to another sibling. (Line breeding).
